You’ve stumbled upon something unusual, haven’t you? A website that looks old, but the content is new. It strikes you like a nostalgic song you’re certain you’ve never heard before… and yet it rings familiar all the same. At the top of the page reads the title; a promise to friends, a reminder to adversaries: Sam Wolfe is alive.

Sam(Sarah) has written for numerous outlets and brands, including Crunchyroll, Game Rant, and Niantic. In her spare time, she writes fiction and occasionally produces video content for the web. When not cultivating her creativity, Sam(Sarah) can be found concocting strategies for her favorite games, singing karaoke, or discussing her opinions on every kind of media under the sun. Her favorite anime series include Kaiba (2008), Madoka Magica (2012), and Galaxy Express 999 (1979).
This blog was created in 2022 in pursuit of excellence in the written word. It was built to be an enclosure for Sam(Sarah)’s personal reflections, media meditations, and creative ramblings. There is no given format to her posts, although patterns have emerged from her interests in films and games of all kinds. She regularly enjoys watching movies in the company of her friends during Movie Club, a semi-weekly virtual event that finds its origins in the 2020 COVID pandemic.
Is it Sam, or Sarah?
In short, it’s both. “Sam” is the author’s given name. She likes who she’s named after, and wants to honor their memory. “Sarah” is the name she chose for herself. (Here’s a video about that.) Some people choose to say the whole thing, “Sam-Sarah,” while others omit the parenthetical with a simple “Sam.” Rarer still are those who just call her “Sarah.” In any case, no one is more correct than the others. Sam(Sarah)’s relationship with her name is complicated. Maybe she’ll tell you about it sometime.
