When I first made this blog, I feared something like this would happen. It’s easy to say “life gets in the way,” but the fact of the matter is it did! The important thing is that this doesn’t mean goodbye, I’m just going dark for a duration.
The past few months have been a bit of a whirlwind, and I have big plans for 2025. For one, I’ve been filling out a lot of job applications, and if you know looking for work you know that means writing cover letters. I’ve been writing a lot of cover letters, but as of yet, I’m still looking for a better job, and still writing a lot of cover letters. Writing on top of writing, even writing that I’m doing for myself, isn’t the most relaxing way for me to unwind, and I think trying to maintain this blog while searching for work will stress me out too much. In addition to that, I’ve partnered with my mom on a writing project that I think will be really worthwhile once it’s done. I don’t want to overshare, but much of the writing that I would usually post here is being funneled into this project; it’s a lot of personal reflections, and writing such emotionally charged thoughts can be pretty draining. When I have more to share, you can be sure I’ll be posting about it here.
Where does that leave this site? Well, it’s kind of become my go-to thing to point to when I want to showcase my writing style, or when applications ask for writing samples, so I don’t want to go completely offline, but I likely won’t be making any posts until this writing project is done. I will still be maintaining the Movie Club History spreadsheet, for the two people who are curious about that. In the meantime, this site will be held in a stasis until such a time that I can return to it more regularly.
Take Care,
– S
