If you’ve clicked on the “About” page of this site in the past two years, you’d be greeted by a pixilated spinning blue heart. The charming animation was a gift from a friend, and it felt like it encapsulated almost everything I felt about the site in a simple visual: it was something precious and somewhat nostalgic. I originally started this site to have a safe place to leave a fingerprint on the internet. I had been deterred by social media, and I wanted an outlet where it felt like I wasn’t imposing or relying on another platform. I wanted a reason to write for myself.
Since then, I’ve started posting on a weekly basis, and I find the structure has been really helpful in honing my ability to communicate ideas through text. I can only hope that I’ll continue to improve. It’s also just been fun to create a history I can look back on. Anyway, all this is to say that I’ve updated the “About” page this week in lieu of a regular post.
