I guess this is as good a place as any to attempt a mission statement, so the purpose of this blog is to provide a place for me to write about things that are maybe too complex for a social media post somewhere else, but not interesting enough to warrant an entire project to themselves. I already feel like everything I post online feels like it’s written by either fifteen year old or a fifteen thousand year old, so an outdated format like a website feels like it suits me. I’ve always wanted to have some kind of virtual footprint online that felt like it was my own, and there’s no time like the present to start one.

Starting a blog feels sort of like New Year’s resolution, and I worry that it might fall into neglect; this isn’t my first blog, and I’m kind of disappointed how that one fizzled out. This being a more general blog where I can write about whatever I want will certainly help, but I can’t shake the feeling blogging is like creating a time capsule. Someday some older version of me might look over this page and wish they’d kept it going, or maybe they’ll be proud that they were consistent about updating. I hope it becomes something I can be proud of.

In any case, I’ll probably write a few posts for myself before I start sharing the url with people.
